Joe started Functional Art in July, 1995 and serves mostly the Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Hendry county areas, although we have done several jobs out-of-state.  Joe was trained in Nyack, New York, under the tutelage of Harvey Dash at Lighthouse School of Art and Design.  Working in ornamental iron is not only a job for Joe, it's a labor of love.

The aim of this Web site is to introduce the variety of products, designs and styles Functional Art creates.  We offer a high quality product with customer satisfaction as our number one priority.  We create custom designs to fit your personal style, either from your own ideas, matching existing pieces or photos or a design Joe creates to fit your motif.  Pieces can be simple and ordinary to elegant and ornate.  We offer a variety of finishes - from flat to high gloss, crackle to patina, smooth to textured and powder coating finishes on all aluminum work.  We can match finishes of existing pieces.  All work is hand crafted from solid steel or aluminum and all joints are welded for durability and strength.  All furniture products are delivered ready to use - never any assembly required.  We also do repair work.

Because of the hand crafted nature of the work, delivery is between 2 to 10 weeks depending upon the complexity of the job. 

Consultations are free.  We are available seven days a week.  Monday - Saturday from 8am to 8pm and on Sundays from 10am to 5pm.
